Before you book
Terms and Conditions
TOKYO JDM DRIVE (operated by S&Y LLC, 合同会社S&Y)
Version 2026-09-26 · Applies from 26 September 2026
These Terms set out the conditions for booking and using the passenger transport that S&Y LLC ("we", "us") provides under the name TOKYO JDM DRIVE, in our cars driven by our drivers (the "Service").
1. Language
- 1.1
The Japanese version of these Terms is the original. The English and Chinese versions are translations of it.
- 1.2
If a translation (including an automatic or AI translation, or one made by a booking site) can be read differently from the Japanese version, the Japanese version applies.
- 1.3
We prepare the English and Chinese versions so that they say the same as the Japanese version.
2. Scope and the standard terms of carriage
- 2.1
These Terms apply when you book and use the Service.
- 2.2
Rides are carried out under the standard terms of carriage for general passenger car transport businesses in Japan (一般乗用旅客自動車運送事業標準運送約款, the "standard terms of carriage"). These Terms are a special agreement under Article 1(2) of the standard terms of carriage and cover matters those terms do not. Anything these Terms do not cover follows the standard terms of carriage and the law. The standard terms of carriage are in Japanese. Ask us if you would like a copy.
- 2.3
All times in these Terms are Japan time (JST).
3. Which bookings these Terms apply to
- 3.1
These Terms (version 2026-09-26) apply to bookings applied for on or after 26 September 2026 for which we showed you these Terms before you applied (on the check screen, in the email we send you before you pay, or in another way).
- 3.2
Other bookings follow the conditions we showed you when you applied (including the cancellation and refund conditions), and these Terms do not apply to them.
- 3.3
If we change these Terms, we post the changed Terms on this page. The changed Terms apply to bookings for which we showed them to you before you applied.
4. Booking and payment
- 4.1
When your booking is made, and how and when you pay, depend on how you book. They are set out on the check screen, in our emails and in our Legal notice (Act on Specified Commercial Transactions).
- 4.2
If you book on our reserva.be booking page, on another booking site (such as GetYourGuide) or through a travel agency, payment, cancellation, refunds and changes of date or time follow the conditions shown to you there when you booked. The rest of these Terms (such as the rules on board, prohibited conduct, and liquidated damages and compensation for damage) apply to bookings covered by section 3, to the extent they do not conflict with those conditions.
5. Cancelling and changing the date or time
- 5.1
To cancel or to change the date or time, reply to our email, write to tokyojdmdrive@gmail.com, or call us on +81 3-6687-7296 or +81 90-6865-2726. We go by the time your email reaches us, or the time we take your call. If you cannot get through by phone, please email us.
- 5.2
Refunds and changes are handled as follows.
| Case | Refund | Changing the date or time |
|---|---|---|
| ① You cancel or ask for a change, for reasons on your side, more than 24 hours earlier than your pick-up time | RefundWe refund the whole amount you paid | Changing the date or timeNo fee |
| ② You cancel or ask for a change, for reasons on your side, 24 hours or less before your pick-up time | RefundWe do not refund what you paid | Changing the date or timeA change fee of ¥30,000 for each change |
| ③ We call off the ride for a reason that is not on your side (a cancellation on our side), including when we decide that weather such as a typhoon or heavy snow, or road conditions, make it unsafe to drive, when a disaster or road closure makes the ride impossible, when the same time has also been booked through another of our sales channels, or when our booking process goes wrong | RefundWe promptly refund the whole amount you paid | Changing the date or timeIf you wish, we move your booking to another date or time with no fee (if we have availability) |
| ④ We stop the ride because of conduct against these Terms (section 8) | RefundWe do not refund what you paid | Changing the date or timeNot applicable |
- 5.3
If you cancel because of the weather but we have not called off the ride, ① or ② applies.
- 5.4
In case ③, we normally tell you at least 6 hours before your pick-up time. If your booking was made less than 6 hours before your pick-up time, or the reason comes to light later than that, we tell you as soon as we know. Even if we tell you later than 6 hours before, you get the refund in ③.
- 5.5
Changing the date or time
- (1)
We can move a booking only to a date and time when we have a car and driver available, for the same course (length of ride). The new date and time are fixed when we confirm them to you by email.
- (2)
The change fee in ② is charged for each change. Please pay it by card through a payment link we send you, or in cash. When we accept the change, we tell you which and by when.
- (3)
For a booking whose date or time has been changed, this section applies again based on the new pick-up time. However, if the date or time was changed under ②, we do not refund what you paid for that booking even if you cancel it later, and we do not refund the change fee. Neither of these applies in case ③.
- (1)
- 5.6
If you are not at the pick-up place more than 30 minutes after your pick-up time, and you have not contacted us (including your driver), we treat it as a no-show and the car leaves. In that case we do not refund what you paid.
- 5.7
Once the ride has taken place as booked, we do not refund what you paid for reasons on your side.
- 5.8
Refunds are made through Stripe to the card or other method you paid with. If an amount is converted between currencies, what you get back may differ from what you paid. When we refund under ① or ③, we do not deduct any fees from the amount you paid. If a change fee you paid in cash is to be refunded, we tell you how.
6. Rules on board
- 6.1
While you ride, please follow the instructions of the crew (the driver), given under the Road Traffic Act and other laws and for driving safely. Everyone must wear a seatbelt, in every seat.
- 6.2
We cannot carry more passengers than the seating capacity on the car's inspection certificate (not counting the driver). We also refuse luggage that cannot be carried safely. If your group is over the capacity, we refuse the ride, and it is treated as a cancellation for reasons on your side under section 5.
7. Prohibited conduct
The following are prohibited before and during the ride.
- (1)
Illegal drugs and heavy drinking: bringing in or using illegal drugs such as stimulants, cannabis or dangerous drugs; boarding when so drunk that you are disorderly or abusive, or are likely to vomit.
- (2)
Interfering with driving: not following the crew's instructions for safety; touching the driver, the steering wheel or the controls; asking the driver to speed, to stop where stopping is prohibited, or otherwise to drive against traffic laws; opening a door, or leaning out of a window or elsewhere, while the car is moving.
- (3)
Soiling, damage and smoking: smoking in the car (including e-cigarettes, heated tobacco and vapes; the car is completely non-smoking); soiling the interior with vomit, bodily waste, spilled drinks or the like; damaging or scratching the seats, displays or equipment, on purpose or through negligence.
- (4)
Harassing the crew and unlawful use: violence, verbal abuse, threats or harassment toward the crew; filming or live-streaming the crew without their consent; using the car for an unlawful purpose or for acts contrary to public order and morals.
8. Stopping the ride and refunds
- 8.1
If a passenger acts against section 6 or 7, or does not follow the crew's instructions, we and the crew may refuse the ride or stop it at once without notice, including by asking passengers to get out partway at a safe place.
- 8.2
In that case we do not refund what you paid.
- 8.3
We claim for the loss this causes us under section 9.
9. Liquidated damages and compensation for damage
- 9.1
In the following cases we charge as follows.

- 9.3
We normally show you what we are claiming and the amount, in writing or by email, on the day of the ride, and after you have checked it, ask you to pay by card through a payment link we send you, or in cash. If you cannot check it on the day, or an amount such as a repair cost is fixed later, we send you the claim in writing or by email once it is fixed.
- 9.4
When we claim, we show you the basis for the amount (such as photos, receipts or quotes).
- 9.5
We do not hold your card details, and we do not charge your card other than when you pay through a payment link we send you.
10. Limits of our liability
- 10.1
We do not compensate for knock-on losses, such as a missed flight or train or hotel costs, caused by delays due to traffic jams, extreme weather, natural disasters, accidents or police road closures, unless the delay was caused by our intent or negligence.
- 10.2
We make every reasonable effort to find items left in the car, and handle them as the law requires. We are not liable for the loss of or damage to your belongings, unless it was caused by our intent or negligence.
